Before Pharmacy English: Help International Customers Find Your Pharmacy

BlinkAd Team

English edition:

Korean original: · Read in Korean

When preparing to serve international customers, learning English can feel like the first task. There is an earlier step to consider: how will those customers find the pharmacy? Some visitors choose where to go while searching from their accommodation or planning the day. If the pharmacy is difficult to find, there may be fewer opportunities to use the language support you have prepared.

What the Korean search terms suggest

The Korean article recorded the following Naver Search Ads figures on August 8, 2026. They show interest in language-related pharmacy queries; they do not identify the occupations or number of individual searchers.

Search term and English meaningReported monthly searchesTool's competition rating
약국영어 — pharmacy English1,090Medium
약사영어 — English for pharmacists310High
약국일본어 — pharmacy Japanese110Low
약국중국어 — pharmacy Chinese90Low
약국영어회화 — English conversation at a pharmacy40Medium

The leading query had more than 1,000 searches, while the article recorded 50 for 약국 마케팅, meaning “pharmacy marketing.” That comparison suggests different levels of search interest in those terms. It does not mean that more than 1,000 distinct pharmacists searched, establish how many international customers they served, or measure how much attention pharmacies give to marketing.

How international customers may look for a pharmacy

Visitors may continue using familiar search and map services while in Korea. Google and Google Maps are important channels to consider alongside Naver. The original article recorded these Google keyword figures for the Korea location setting:

LanguageSearch termReported average monthly searches
Englishpharmacy near me18,100
Englishcold medicine korea590
Englishkorean pharmacy320
Englishkorean medicine320
Englishmyeongdong pharmacy140
Englishhangover cure korea140
Englishseoul pharmacy110
Japanese韓国 薬局 — pharmacy in Korea880
Japanese明洞 薬局 — Myeongdong pharmacy880
Traditional Chinese韓國 藥局 — pharmacy in Korea590
Traditional Chinese明洞 藥局 — Myeongdong pharmacy590
Traditional Chinese韓國 藥妝 — Korean drugstore or pharmacy shopping140

“Pharmacy near me” is the largest query in this particular list. It describes a search based on the person's current location, without naming a district. That makes local discovery relevant beyond tourist hotspots. The figures are searches, not verified tourist visits; some terms, such as “korean medicine,” can also have a broader or different meaning.

A customer may choose a shortlist online before walking to the pharmacy. Other customers may simply notice the pharmacy as they walk past.

In the Korean article, we described a visit to Myeongdong where we saw international customers entering pharmacies and asked how they had found them. Several mentioned Google Maps. This was an informal observation, not a representative survey of visitors.

A practical order for getting started

Step 1: Make the pharmacy easy to find on Google

Create or claim the Google Business Profile and complete verification so you can manage the information. The profile itself is free to set up and verify.

  • Choose the appropriate pharmacy category.
  • Keep opening hours, phone number and address current.
  • Use consistent, accurate business details on Google and Naver Place.

Step 2: Show what the pharmacy offers

A sign alone may not tell a visitor what they can expect inside. Accurate photographs and information about the categories you actually stock can help, within the applicable pharmacy and platform rules.

  • Show the exterior from an angle customers can recognize from the street.
  • Use interior photographs that show the space and layout.
  • Show the relevant shelves and stocked categories accurately.
  • Describe the pharmacy's actual services and stocked product categories. Google may translate parts of a profile, but check what customers see in the languages that matter to you.

Step 3: Invite reviews

Reviews can help first-time visitors assess a business. After a purchase, invite honest feedback without a reward, and reply briefly where useful. Keep personal health details out of public replies.

Step 4: Prepare for the conversation in the pharmacy

Discovery work and in-store communication should support each other. Prepare appropriate language assistance, reviewed explanations and translation tools so the pharmacist can give clear advice when someone arrives. An automatically translated profile does not replace that preparation.

Frequently asked questions

Could we just manage Naver Place?

Naver remains important for local customers. Google Maps may also be a familiar route for international visitors. Keep both accurate, and review the Google information if international discovery is your current gap.

Can we begin if we do not speak English?

You can start organizing the profile in Korean. Some content may be translated for viewers, but language coverage and accuracy need checking. Prepare suitable language assistance and clear information for the actual pharmacy conversation as well.

Could this help a neighborhood pharmacy outside a tourist area?

A “near me” search is based on location rather than a named tourist district. International residents and business travelers may also search this way. Whether your pharmacy appears depends on the actual search and local results.

How much does it cost?

You can manage a Google Business Profile's information, photos and review replies without buying ads. Consider whether those basics need attention before deciding on paid advertising.

Help customers find you as well as communicate with you

The historical keyword figures show interest in language support, while the customer-facing searches point to a separate discovery task. Begin by making the pharmacy findable, showing accurate information about the business and building useful reviews, alongside preparation for the conversation inside.

Data note: These are the figures recorded in the original article from Naver Search Ads and Google Ads keyword tools on August 8, 2026; they have not been rerun for this English edition. The article described Naver's figures as searches over the preceding 30 days, combining PC and mobile, and Google's as average monthly searches with Korea selected. Exact averaging periods and source exports are not supplied here. Platform estimates, rounding and related-query handling can affect the figures, so do not add them into a count of customers or compare the platforms as if their measures were identical.
